It is vitally important to be associated with a registered industry body like the RMI (Retail Motor Industry Organisation) who has been in existence for more than 100 years.
MIWA, the Independent Workshop Association is a proud association of the RMI, representing General Repairs and Auto Electrical Workshops; Air Conditioning and Accessories; Transmission & Driveline and Fitment Centres, strives to remain ahead of the ever-changing technologies and best practices of the aftermarket motor industry.
We proud ourselves in the setting of high industry standards and our member workshops need to comply with specific criteria to achieve accreditation status. These include amongst others compulsory employment of qualified artisans, specialised equipment and compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.
Doing business with an accredited MIWA member provides piece of mind with a MIWA warranty. MIWA recommends that all work carried out by MIWA workshops should carry a minimum of 10’000km or 6 months, whichever occurs first. (Where parts suppliers offer a greater than six month warranty, such warranty should pass over to the consumer).
For major component repairs like engines, gearboxes and differentials, the warranty should be a minimum of 20’000kms or 12 months, whichever occurs first. This includes cylinder head overhauls.
